Not too long ago I stumbled across the political compass which after a number of tick box question pages revealed that I was of the same political persuasion as Mahatma Gandhi. I deemed this to be rather a good thing and announced it to all who would listen.
Sometime later, after one of my rants on the wrongs of social and political states of global affairs - during which I waged a somewhat peaceful battle involving an office toilet postering protest - I became known as Timmymahatma.
Some more time passed and eventually I came to work a Manchester based sustainability charity and I was content professionally for the first time this life.
But all is not cool on the neo-hippy front. I’m becoming ever more alarmed at the state of the world. I’m working hard to effect the type of social and environmental change that the community groups I serve wish to see in Manchester, but there is always more to be done.
In an effort to concentrate my energy, focus and push further, I’m going to try to join up all the aspects of my life. I feel that if I document my life and tell it like it is, I might be able to look back on it and define where the problems lie and how to overcome them.
In short – I’m attempting to “become the change I wish to see in the world”.
